October 2024 - Escobia v. Rasperry: DUI/Wrongful death cases that went to trial because USAA responded to our global policy-limit demand with a settlement as to the owner only. For unclear reasons USAA removed the at-fault driver from the settlement documents and even refused to defend him for the first six months of litigation. As a result, even though we offered to settle with all involved, USAA did not protect the insured driver, so the case settled as to the owner, but not the driver.
