First, you will hear from Barbara Holland, a licensed Supervising Community Manager with over five decades of experience in managing single-family, multi-family, and commercial properties. In her illustrious property management career, Ms. Holland twice served as the President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management, managed tens of thousands of properties, and trained hundreds of property managers on real estate management practices. She will discuss the importance and implication of evaluating key management documents, available resources property managers have at their disposal, evaluating a property for habitability, and industry best practices when it comes to addressing tenant mold complaints.
Second, you will hear from Dale Walsh a Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Environmental Manager who has provided occupational and environmental health and safety services to clients ranging from individual homeowners to the United States Government. Mr. Walsh served as the President of the American Society of Safety Professionals at both the national and local levels, served as a member of national standards committees on air quality, and has conducted and overseen hundreds of mold remediation projects from initial inspection through post remediation verification. He will discuss the relevant inspection, testing, and remediation procedures followed by Certified Industrial Hygienists and Environmentalists to discover mold problems as well as tips on how to use and interpret testing data in litigation.
Finally, you will hear from Dr. Lysander Jim, a Board Certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician whose practice for the last decade has focused on the diagnosis of treatment of environmental and mold-related injury. In his private practice, Dr. Jim has evaluated and treated over a thousand mold-injured patients. Outside of his private practice, Dr. Jim has presented at national conferences discussing the interplay between exposure to mold-contaminated buildings and human health and has published peer reviewed, scientific articles on mold-related illnesses, like Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (“CIRS”). Dr. Jim will discuss the scientific progression of diagnosing and treating mold-related illnesses, the diagnostic criteria for diagnosing an individual with a mold-related illness, and the long-term implications of those diagnoses.
