Meet Michael.
Michael Karp is a distinguished trial lawyer and the visionary co-founder of the firm, Trial Lawyers of Wisconsin, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Over the past two years, he has tried four cases to verdict, achieving record-setting results with six, seven, and even eight-figure awards. These accomplishments not only highlight his skill as a trial lawyer, but also his unwavering commitment to obtaining justice for his clients.

A practical, repeatable approach to building trial cases that win. This lecture focuses on creating “systems” that reduce chaos and increase consistency—from early case evaluation and theme development to witness sequencing, exhibit control, and objection-ready evidentiary planning. Attendees will leave with a clear framework for organizing trial work, improving team execution, and making persuasive choices faster under pressure.
Simplify Your Opening
A hands-on session for turning an opening statement into a clear, compelling story a jury can track and remember. Participants will practice stripping out legalese, tightening chronology, and anchoring the opening around a few high-value points tied to the verdict form. Attendees will leave with a simplified opening structure, tools for cutting clutter, and actionable insights they can apply immediately to their next case.

Case Framing Workshop
Work on designing a winning frame for your case. In this workshop, we will work on framing your case to highlight key themes, discredit the defense’s narrative, and lay the groundwork for a persuasive closing argument. You’ll walk away with case specific ideas on how to control the flow of information and manage perceptions from opening statements through closing argument. This hands-on workshop will cover: - Identifying and presenting case-defining themes - Structuring your presentation for maximum impact - Overcoming the defense's efforts to reframe critical evidence - Leveraging case framing to enhance direct and cross-examinations - Developing key frames throughout trial to setup a simple and effective closing argument This workshop is led by Michael Karp and Robert Welcenbach who have used these techniques to achieve 7 and 8 figure verdicts. The class is limited to 10 participants to ensure personalized guidance and feedback.
